Are you a person who often finds yourself listening to the concerns of others who choose to confide in you? Are you a person interested in spirituality, in prayer, in learning more about God's ways in your life and in the lives of others? If your answer is YES, it may be that God is calling you to explore the ministry of spiritual direction and to prepare yourself to accompany others on their faith journey.

St. Francis Retreat Center in partnership with the Dominican Center for Religious Development is offering a two-year internship in Spiritual Direction beginning in September, 2008. The program is open to interested women and men, clergy, deacons, religious and laity who have some theological background and some ministerial experience. Those who have completed the program over the past 12 years are now ministering as spiritual directors in a variety of ways in the Diocese of Lansing, Saginaw, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Detroit, and in congregations of various Christian traditions.

The Sustaining Pastoral Excellence Program is pleased to offer partial scholarship support for pastoral leaders who have been accepted into the program.
